Our Jersey City office is seeking a candidate to join our Risk and Credit Group.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Review and approve client risk communications and calculations
- Build, monitor, and distribute risk reports and calculations
- Forecast and monitor market trends and the effects on client portfolios
- Conduct statistical analysis to evaluate risk by using statistical software such as Python, SQL and R
- Analyze prospective client portfolios and determine their buying power and risk levels
- Review and monitor client trading activity real time through risk management systems
- Perform market and credit risk surveillance by monitoring hedge funds, institutions and propriety trading firms
- Build, monitor and distribute risk reports and calculations
- Issue margin calls and liquidate portfolios if needed
- Perform other duties as required and assigned
- Bachelor's Degree from accredited University required, preferably in Business or Finance
- 3 years of risk or related broker dealer experience
- FINRA Series 3 and/or 7 preferred
- Ability to think analytically and identify potential risk
- Strong numeracy and strategy skills
- Stays current on compliance and regulatory practices
- Self-starter, able to work independently to resolve problems and implement new initiatives in support of team goals
- Highly proficient in MS Office, Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
- SQL, Python and R proficiency
- Ability to work on simultaneous projects and adhere to strict deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude
- Familiarity with Bloomberg and Risk Metrics
